About Me

I have been a social worker in Milwaukee for 20 years. As a graduate from the UW Milwaukee Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, I am deeply rooted in this community. My experience with various agencies and roles in the mental health system, including Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division, the Comprehensive Community Support Program, Aurora Health Care, founder and director of Victory Garden Initiative, a nonprofit that helps people have access to healthy foods by growing it themselves and now my experience running a private psychotherapy practice has given me a deep knowledge about supporting people in their healing journeys. These experiences fostered a breadth and depth of understanding about human wellness and the capacity for healing and growth.

I am deeply passionate about helping clients tune in to their own inner healer, drawing from various healing disciplines to direct clients’ intuition. Since launching Vanamala Healing, my own solo psychotherapy practice, in 2019, I specialize in offering IFS, DBT, ecotherapy, trauma-informed yoga therapy, and mindfulness. Most recently, I graduated from the Naropa Psychedelic Assisted Therapy program, and now specializes in utilizing the powerful energy of psychedelics as a tool to help clients access the parts of their inner healer that are so often difficult to connect with in normal states of consciousness.

My work focuses mostly on those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder. More importantly, though, I work with those who are longing to create more meaning through connecting to others, themselves, and this one wild and precious life, in this wild and precious universe.
